It’s hard to avoid all the harmful toxins we come in contact with daily. If you sat down and did research on the products we use and the things we eat, you probably wouldn’t want to get out of bed! Today, I want to talk about three toxins and how to deal with getting them out of your body.
Fluoride
Fluoride is in most of our county drinking water. That’s a good thing, right? No! In 2010, the cdc stated that there is no reason to have to swallow fluoride to get the benefits. Therefore, we should not be ingesting fluoride to make our teeth healthier. Fluorides have been linked to a variety of chronic health issues. Sodium fluoride, which is added to our water supply is already contaminated with lead, aluminum and cadmium.
What does this mean to our health? It damages the liver and kidneys, weakens the immune system, creating a chance for cancer, and carries aluminum across the blood brain barrier. This results as “dumbing down” effect, lowering IQ’s and Alzheimer’s effects of fluoride.
If that wasn’t all, the pineal gland, located in the middle of the brain can become calcified from fluorides, inhibiting it’s function as a melatonin producer. Melatonin is needed for sound sleep, and the lack of it also contributes to thyroid problems.
Solution:
Filter
The obvious as always, curb taking in toxins. Purify water through filters, or purchase water that is fluoride free.
Go Organic
Avoid sprayed, commercially grown foods and try to purchase organic or locally grown foods instead. Watch out for processed foods such as instant tea, grape juice and soy milk for babies. They all contain high concentrations of sodium fluoride.
Magnesium/Calcium
Magnesium and calcium are very important minerals that many of us are lacking, actually inhibits the absorption of fluoride into cells. many are lacking. Along with magnesium, calcium seems to help attract the fluorides away from your bones and teeth, allowing your body to eliminate those toxins. Include a healthy supplemental dose of calcium/magnesium as part of the protocol.
Pesticides (injected)
By now, I’m sure all of us have heard about how pesticides are used in many foods and products we use. Pesticides are bad, bad, bad. We are more knowledgeable about how to avoid it with by switching to organic, buying local, and making/growing our own products. BUT, did you know that companies are now injecting pesticides in corn? So, now not only do you have to worry about it (pesticides) being on your produce, it’s now inside it with no way to eliminate it. And how about the animals that eat that corn? It’s now carried over to your meat source!
Solution:
Organic Corn and Grass Fed Animal Products
I know that buying organic can be expensive at times, but if you can only pick a few organic sources, make sure that organic corn and beef make the list. Each go hand in hand in eliminating pesticides.
Heavy Metals
Mercury, lead and other heavy metals are not good for us. Have you heard about how arsenic can be found in apples and rice? Mercury can be found in old fillings and even though it’s outlawed, a lot of us still carry dangerous mercury leaking into our body. We even get mercury through fish that we eat.
Solution:
Charcoal
I’m not talking about what’s out in your grill! Activated charcoal is an agent to remove toxins from the body, charcoal is the best single detoxifier for whole-body cleansing. Take a couple of charcoal upplements before you go to bed to work it’s magic to detox all that bad stuff out of your body while you sleep. Talk to your doctor first if you are on any medications!
Detox Those Toxins
While you can do things to eliminate/reduce these toxins in our diet, you also need to get rid of what’s in your body already.
There are many ways to do this, with my favorite being using food as a detox. Here are some methods to try (always consult with your doctor first if you are on medications).
Dried Seaweed
Try wakame flakes -great for counteracting fluoride. Mix seaweed in a salad for iodine to counteract fluoride.
Chlorella
This is a sea algae that helps to oxidize the cells and take heavy metals out. Take 3 or 4 a day for 4 to 6 weeks.
