Hey you!
I’m up early every day because that’s just how I roll…
A long time ago, I realized how a morning routine really impacts the rest of your day. It sets the tone for your mood, productivity and overall energy for the next 24 hours. And whether you consider yourself a morning person or a night owl, I’ve got some good news for you-EVERYONE can develop a morning routine to start each day on the right foot.
You just got to think of it this way – morning routines are the “secret” of those bright-eyed and bushy-tailed morning guys. It’s what helps them to be more efficient, alert and healthy. And yeppers, that is determined by what’s done in the first couple of hours after waking.
So today, I thought I’d shake it up and show you my (roughly) morning routine. Of course, things happen, but I try to keep to this as much as possible:
6:30am Wake up.
6:35am Get out of bed, hit the restroom and do a “mini” oil pulling.
6:45am Have a glass of room temperature water with lemon.
6:50am Get my daughter up if school day, then juice my “vitamin” drink: 1/2 a cucumber, 1 apple, 1 celery stalk & 1/2 inch ginger.
7:00-7:35am Get my daughter ready and off to school (this is seriously a world’s record for how quickly we do this).
7:40am My day really begins! I do a 15 min workout, then I’ll either make a smoothie, yogurt and fruit, oatmeal, or some eggs and add my supplements.
8:30am Now it’s time to work. I always start my day by writing down my top three priorities for the day. These could be working on a campaign, creating a new recipe, editing food photos, writing a new blog post, doing outreach on social media or numerous other things. Whatever it is, it really helps me to write things down to stay focused and not get stressed.
I find that I have a much better day if I follow my morning routine. I’m more refreshed, focused, energized and ready to make it a kickass day!
