MY DAUGHTER IS ADDICTED TO CHICK-FIL-A. I’ve heard the sauce is addictive, though I’ve never tried it. When I saw some copycat recipes out there, I had to try it myself. I figured my daughter would be the perfect tester to see how close it would be to the original.
After making it a couple of times and tweaking it a bit, I got the thumb’s up from her. Mind you, this is sugar-free, and keto friendly!
One thing I need to mention is that I did not use regular mayo. During my health coach training, one of the first things I did was to take out all inflammatory oils.
You wouldn’t believe how bad these puppies are for your body.
Here are the oils I got rid of:
- Soybean oil
- Canola Oil
- Vegetable Oil
- Corn Oil
- Grapeseed Oil
Why are they bad?
From ThankYourBody.com: Vegetable oils are bad because they contain very high levels of polyunsaturated fats (PUFAs). But did you know that the fat content of the human body is about 97% saturated and monounsaturated fat? Our body needs fat for rebuilding cells and hormone production. And it can only use what we give it.
Polyunsaturated fats are highly unstable. They oxidize easily. These oxidized fats cause inflammation and mutation in cells. That oxidation is linked to all sorts of issues from cancer, heart disease, endrometriosis, PCOS, etc.
Instead, I use oils high in nutrition and anti-inflammatory properties like these:
- Avocado Oil
- Coconut Oil
- Olive Oil
So, what do I do about my mayo? I use Primal Kitchen Avocado Mayo. I use it for mayo in sauces, tuna salad, etc.
Now, back to this sauce….
Ingredients:
¼ cup Primal Kitchen Mayo
1 T Lakanto Powdered Sweetener
1/2 T Yellow Mustard
2 tsp. Dijon Mustard
1 1.2 tsp. Lemon Juice
2 T Sweetened Barbecue Sauce {I recommend this one}
Directions:
Whisk all ingredients together in a small bowl. Store in the refrigerator in an airtight container.
