WHEN YOU DO SOMETHING that slows us down, such as meditate, you reorganize your nervous system. This allows your body to heal itself naturally.
Learn how you can heal yourself through meditation with these tips:
Accept that meditation can heal you
When most think about “meditation” they imagine the outcome to be to manifest what they want, to calm down, or just feel in a better place. Meditation does give you all those benefits, as long as you meditate regularly and believe that it can heal.
Allow everything to come during your meditation
Many people have a hard time meditating because they think they’re doing something wrong because they don’t immediately drop into quietness.
During meditation you might start to have lots of chaotic thoughts. Many people think, ” I need to push these thoughts away to silence my mind!”
It’s actually quite the opposite. The thoughts coming up are your mind’s way of healing. Don’t push down those thoughts. Let them come through and then take your focus back and let the feelings and the thoughts come forward.
The reason let them come up is so they can be healed. Trust that when you’re meditating and your body’s twitching or the thoughts are coming in, that that is healing. It’s what is known as an active meditation with an active healing experience.
You are experiencing real physical and emotional healing.
Rest after meditating
You would think that when you are meditating, that you are resting at the same time, but when you come out of your meditation it’s important to rest for a few minutes.
After your meditation, rest for a few minutes. You can lie down or sit comfortably with your eyes closed, letting your mind and body transition out of meditation mode. This works better for you than jumping out of a meditation to immediately checking your phone, going back to work, etc.
When you don’t give yourself that brief rest period, you lose the effects of your meditation, which often interferes with your healing.
