Glow Up Morning Tea

I’ve felt so dehydrated lately after being sick with walking pneumonia, and trust me, there’s nothing like that dry, dull feeling to make you realize how important it is to stay hydrated—especially if you want that healthy glow. So, in an effort to give my skin, hair, and nails some extra love, I invented my own “Glow Up Tea.” It’s the perfect refreshing pick-me-up to kick off my mornings, and I’m honestly so excited to share it with you!

Why I Needed a Glow Up (and Maybe You Do Too!)

If you’ve ever been under the weather (like I was with walking pneumonia!), you know how your body can feel totally depleted. For me, the first thing that went was my glow—I had dry skin, chapped lips, and just felt blah. Hydration is key for healthy skin, but sometimes plain water can get boring. That’s where this tea comes in!

Enter the Glow Up Tea: a simple, delicious blend that rehydrates, provides a healthy dose of skin-loving nutrients, and tastes so good you’ll actually look forward to drinking it.

The Hero Ingredients and Their Beauty Benefits

1. Hibiscus Tea

  • Skin-Loving Antioxidants: Hibiscus is packed with antioxidants that help fend off free radicals, which can contribute to premature aging.
  • Vitamin C Boost: It contains vitamin C that can support collagen production naturally, which is a major win for firm, radiant skin.
  • Refreshing & Tangy: The sweet-tart flavor is so refreshing—especially over ice!

2. Powdered Collagen

  • Strong Hair & Nails: Collagen supports healthier hair and nails by providing essential amino acids.
  • Skin Elasticity: Adding a scoop of collagen can help improve skin elasticity and reduce the appearance of fine lines over time.
  • Easy to Use: It’s practically flavorless, so it blends seamlessly into any beverage.

3. Pineapple Slices

  • Natural Enzymes: Pineapple contains bromelain, an enzyme known for its anti-inflammatory properties. Some say it can help soothe irritated skin from the inside out.
  • Vitamin C: Another great source of vitamin C to boost your glow.
  • Tropical Sweetness: Pineapple adds that sunny, beachy vibe to your morning cup!

4. Blueberries

  • Antioxidant Powerhouse: Blueberries are famous for their high antioxidant content, which can help protect against environmental stressors.
  • Skin Brightening: Consuming antioxidants regularly has been linked to a brighter, more even skin tone.
  • Gorgeous Hue: They also give your drink a pretty pop of color (and who doesn’t love a colorful breakfast?).

5. Honey

  • Gentle Sweetener: A natural way to sweeten your tea without refined sugar.
  • Soothing & Anti-Bacterial: Honey has mild antibacterial properties and can be soothing for a scratchy throat (perfect if you’re recovering from any illness).
  • Flavor Enhancement: It balances the tartness of the hibiscus and complements the fruity flavors.

Let’s Talk Hydration

You’ve probably heard it a million times, but I’ll say it again: staying hydrated is a major key to vibrant, plump, and glowing skin. When you’re sick or just not feeling your best, you lose fluids faster, and that can show up on your face, making skin look dull or even causing breakouts. By sipping on hydrating drinks packed with vitamins and minerals, you’re doing your body (and your complexion) a huge favor.

The Glow Up Tea Recipe

Ingredients (1 serving):

  • 1 cup of freshly brewed hibiscus tea (brew according to package instructions)
  • 1 scoop (about 1 tablespoon) of powdered collagen
  • A handful of ice cubes
  • A few fresh pineapple slices (2–3 slices, or more if you’re feeling fancy)
  • A small handful of blueberries
  • Honey to taste

Instructions:

  1. Brew the Hibiscus: Prepare your hibiscus tea as directed on the packaging. I like mine a little on the stronger side for maximum flavor.
  2. Mix in the Collagen: While the tea is still hot, stir in the powdered collagen until it dissolves completely.
  3. Add Ice: Fill a tall glass or tumbler with ice cubes.
  4. Pour the Tea: Slowly pour the hibiscus-collagen mixture over the ice.
  5. Layer the Fruit: Drop in a few pineapple slices and a handful of blueberries. (Pro tip: Give them a gentle stir or muddle to release more of their flavor!)
  6. Sweeten with Honey: Drizzle in some honey, adjusting the sweetness to your liking, and give it a good stir.

Sip, enjoy, and get ready to glow!

Final Thoughts

Staying hydrated was never this delicious—or this beneficial for your skin, hair, and nails! My Glow Up Tea has become a non-negotiable part of my morning routine, and it’s made a big difference in how I feel (and look) every day. If you’re looking to bring back your glow—especially after feeling run down—give this tea a try. It’s like a mini-spa treatment for your insides, and your complexion will thank you.

Cheers to better hydration, radiant skin, and starting the day with something as sweet and bright as you are! If you give this a go, let me know how you love it and feel free to tweak the ingredients to make it truly your own.

Stay glowing!
