While flipping through the channels, I came across the Dr Oz Show and hit the info button to see the topic of the day. I discovered that he was doing a 31 day Jan-You-ary Plan all about eating healthy and taking care of yourself.
I was intrigued.
I hit the record series button and plan on taking his advice as part of my “getting back on the healthy wagon”. I decided to try his Two Week Rapid Weight Loss Plan he talked about on Monday (or was it Tuesday?) to get a head start on eating healthier. The fact that it’s only for two weeks motivates me to see it through and I look forward to the challenge.
Here is a screen shot of the plan and you can print it here.
I don’t know if I would (or, could) stay totally on it forever, and I might change it up a tiny bit since I’m not concentrating so much on losing weight, but more like thinking of it as a “cleanse” for my body. I also might up the protein intake amount a bit since I can’t just eat vegetables for lunch or dinner.
I’m sure you can get creative with the vegetables and make different dishes so it doesn’t feel like you are just eating veggies. Some suggestions would be zucchini fries, a chicken chili, tuna lettuce wrap, or vegetable soup.
I’m getting my shopping list ready and starting on Monday. I let you know how it’s going by next Friday Fitness. If you want to take the challenge with me, good for you! You can tell me how your progress is going as well. I would love to hear any creative recipes you used during these two weeks as well. : )
