Emily had been anxiously awaiting our first major snow fall. So, when she woke up to big fluffy flakes starting to blanket our front yard, she yelled, “I’m going outside!”
For me, a beautiful white outdoors is the ticket to get me in the mood for the holidays. We hadn’t had a white Christmas the last couple of years I do believe, so it’s nice to know that we are getting a white Christmas this year-as long as it stays off the roads!
I’m trying to not stress over not being done with Christmas shopping and organizing for visits. Usually, I at least have the menu figured out by now. The crazy part about it was that I thought I was ahead of the game for once.
Turned out, I wasn’t even close.
So, it’s been crazy at our house with me running around trying to figure out what treats to bake, running to the store for more wrapping paper, more gifts, and beating my head against the wall trying to figure out what to get the in-laws.
Oh to be a child again, like my oldest and I were just saying. I remember the days of having nothing to worry about but to make sure mom and dad got the right Barbie I wanted, or that I was getting that easy bake oven I begged for all year long.
Those were the good ole’ days!
