HOW STRESSED ARE YOU RIGHT NOW? More than 70% of people say they regularly experience stress.

That’s where aromatherapy comes in. The scent of many essential oils can help reduce stress.

Most studies center around lavender as an oil to relieve stress. Studies have concluded that inhaling lavender reduces stress in intensive care unit patients, postpartum woman, and even dental patients.. Lavender also is an excellent natural remedy to treat insomnia and improve sleep quality.

But you don’t have limit yourself to just lavender. Many essential oils have the same stress-relieving chemical compounds as lavender.

7  ESSENTIAL OILS FOR STRESS

Sandalwood

The rich, woodsy scent of sandalwood will make you want to slow down and take it easy. This pleasant aroma has been used for centuries in yoga and meditation to promote feelings of grounding. 

Rosemary

Rosemary calms both mind and body when you’re stressed out. Stress can cause a tension headache, painful neck, or even a stomach ache. Rosemary is an excellent oil to use as a massage oil to soothe muscle aches and pains. It’s analgesic and antispasmodic effect helps your body relax and let go of stress.

Geranium

The floral aroma of geranium is perfect to create feelings of calm, strength and security. The rose-like scent creates a comforting environment to diffusen when stressful thoughts keep you up at night.

Marjoram

The spicy, herbal scent of marjoram has emotional aromatherapy benefits similar to lavender. It’s actually  known as the herb of happiness. This oil promotes relaxation and a restful night’s sleep. 

Grapefruit

You might not think that the tart scent of grapefruit would be a mood-boosting oil provides an emotional pick-me-up. Diffuse with other mentally clarifying oils like cypress or pine.

Frankincense

The ancient oil Frankincense is commonly used in meditation because it helps to calm and still the mind. Thoughts that lead to nervousness, stress, and exhaustion can be broken by diffusing frankincense. 

Clary Sage

Clary sage has been found very effective in controlling the stress hormone cortisol and balancing emotions. 

Be Calm Room Spray

  • 28 drops Clary sage
  • 55 drops Lemon
  • 37 drops Ginger

Add oils to a 4-ounce mist sprayer and fill with distilled water. Shake well before every use. Spray in the air and breathe the scent in deeply.
